DMB02 "Cellar Dwellers" Fight At The Lazur Chemical Factory "STALINGRAD" 1/35 scale.
This 1/35 scale diorama was created by the master modeler, Dan Capuano, in 2005. The creation is titled “ The Cellar Dwellers” and it depicts the brutal winter clash at the Luzar Chemical Factory in Stalingrad. The confusion and chaos that is the result of fighting inside a destroyed multiple story building is clearly demonstrated by the choreography of the soldiers and armor. You have the Russians on top and the Germans on the ground, all not knowing where the enemy is located. Due to the destruction of the factory, even the driver of the KV1 is totally unaware of his surroundings. The detail of the diorama is overwhelming. The destruction and the resulting clutter is so impressive that it is difficult to capture what Capuano had created in a few viewings. I have had this diorama for a few years and today I am still discovering new features that I had not seen before.
All structures were scratch built and many of the soldiers were modified by the artist to correspond to the posture that is required in the story. Vallejo acrylics along with MIG oil paints/pigments were used. This is truly a unique and original work of art.
The diorama is enclosed in a quality acrylic case whose dimensions are 22” x 19” x 34.5”. Shipping is not possible; local pickup is preferred. You are always welcome to view the diorama in person if interested. Thank you for looking.
