U72-156 B-36 Peacemaker gun turrets 1/72

This gun turret set from Pavla is a terrific addition to the Monogram/Revell B-36 kit. The ammunition belts are incredibly fragile to the point of being almost useless. I bought 2 kits and all 8 ammo belts were broken into pieces and most of the bullet noses were broken off. The rest of the kit is very accurate and fits together nicely. The 20mm gun barrels are mounted directly to the front of the fairing and should be recessed slightly with an oval opening. This is easily corrected. You have to cut a huge hole in the fuselage and the edges of the turret tub need to be mounted flush with the surface of the fuselage to look right. I rated this product one step below good just because of the ammo belts. Otherwise I would have rated it good.
