The Dassault Mirage 5 is a French supersonic strike aircraft and fighter-bomber developed from the Mirage IIIE. Designed for export customers, it was adapted into multiple variants tailored to specific operational requirements, becoming one of the most widely used Mirage derivatives worldwide.
Although optimized for ground-attack missions through the removal of radar systems to increase fuel capacity and reduce cost, the Mirage 5 retained strong versatility. Some versions were later equipped with radar systems such as Aida II or Cyrano, enhancing their air-to-air capability. Over its service life, the type was operated by numerous air forces including Abu Dhabi, Colombia, Libya, Egypt, Gabon, Pakistan, Venezuela, and Zaire, each fielding distinctive local variants and upgrades.
This conversion set allows the modeller to accurately recreate a wide range of Mirage 5 export configurations in 1/48 scale.
