The American plane-producer Bell Aircraft Corporation enterend in the world history of aviation by the fighter P-39 Airacobra, whitch had revolutionary solution, and by its successor P-63 Kingcobra. After the Second World War the firm, today a part of a mammoth concern Textron Inc. of Providence, constructs the planes with rotary wings - a helicopters, for whitch is the name Bell nearly synonym nowadays.
The Bell Model 47 was the first at the beginning of the long line of types. Its evolution began in 1941 already and was marked Model 30. The American air force examined it under the mark XR-12. The evolution continued and in 1945 was introduced the first operation version Bell 47A and bit later series version "B", too.
Up till middle the seventieth, when the type was replaced by more modern types, was made more then 3 500 Bell 47th in various version in forty air forces in the world. It was constructed under the licence like the series by Italian Agusta and in Japan by the firm Kawasaki, too. The most wide-spread was various Bell 47D and G using in various modifications, the most know of them is sanitary service during the Korean war and in Vietnam, too. The last version Bell 47J proves its excellent characteristics especially in the training of the new pilots.
